Getting started
Create a list and pick what it’s for: groceries, maintenance, an event, a checklist, or a progress board. The kind decides which features turn on, so nothing feels bloated. Add items from the box at the top; on a groceries list you’ll get suggestions as you type.
MyListResort is an installable web app: on Android Chrome or iPhone Safari choose Add to Home Screen and it behaves like a native app, no store needed.
Sharing a list
Open the list’s settings and create an invite link. Each code works once and expires in 7 days (up to 10 outstanding per list). An eligible recipient within plan limits joins in the role attached to the invite. Editors can change the list; viewers cannot. Changes normally sync in near-real time while connected. Owners can change a member’s role, remove them, or hand the whole list over. Current plans do not charge a per-person guest fee.
Freshness & expiry
On a groceries list, mark an item opened, and MyListResort uses general shelf-life guidance to start an estimated quality countdown. No match? Set your own window (it’s remembered for next time). Packaging date and opened window can both be set; the soonest one wins. Freshness dates are guidance, not food-safety determinations; actual condition depends on storage and handling. Maintenance lists work the same way with recurring intervals, and events and checklists take due dates.
Notifications
Account → Notifications, per device. Enable it on the phone you shop with. Three types, each optional: expiry & due reminders (two days ahead and day-of, around your chosen hour, in your timezone), list activity while you’re away, and “assigned to you.” Each list’s settings let its owner limit what the list can send, and let you mute types just for that list. On iPhone, install to the home screen first; iOS requires it for notifications.
Calendar
The calendar shows events, appointments and deadlines from your lists in Agenda, 30 days or Family views, coloured by whose they are. Anyone on a shared list can add one, and say who is covering it.
On a paid plan you can also connect a Google account, in Account → Calendar sync, and see your own Google events beside your household dates. Three things worth knowing. Only you see them: your household sees your calendar here, not your Google one. They are view only, so to change an event you edit it in Google Calendar. And this one is per person rather than per household, so each member connects their own account and needs a paid plan of their own. New events arrive at the next check, about every 30 minutes, or straight away if you tap Sync now. Untick a calendar, or disconnect the account, and the events we stored from it are removed.
Your data
Account → Your data → Download my data: every list, item and category as one JSON file containing list names, item basics and categories, available on every current tier. We do not serve third-party ads or sell personal data. Deactivating your account offers to hand shared lists to another member; signing back in with the same email reactivates the login but does not restore removed lists or memberships. Use the privacy form for permanent deletion.
Using it with no signal
Your lists are kept on your device, so in a shop with no bars you can still open them, check things off, and add or edit items. MyListResort tells you what it last knew and when, instead of leaving you on a spinner, and holds your changes until you reconnect.
When anything is waiting, a bar appears at the top of the app with a link to the sync screen, where you can see exactly what will be sent and send it straight away. Changes are held on that device, so send them before you switch phones or clear the app’s data.
A few things still need a connection, and the app says so rather than pretending: creating, sharing or deleting a list, joining an invite, and moving cards on a board.
Troubleshooting
The app normally updates itself shortly after we ship a fix. Reopen it first; if something looks stuck, reload and check the version number near the bottom of your Account page. Changes are designed to sync live when you’re online, but connections and service outages can delay them. Tell us what you see.
