MyListResort

Delete your account

Applies to MyListResort accounts · Privacy version 2026-08-14

You can permanently delete your MyListResort account and the data tied to it. This is different from deactivating. Deactivation is reversible, and signing back in restores your login. Permanent deletion cannot be undone by us or by you.

If you can sign in

Deleting your own account takes about a minute and does not need our help.

  1. Sign in and open your Profile page.
  2. Choose Delete my account permanently.
  3. Hand over any shared lists you want other people to keep. Anything you still own is deleted with you.
  4. Confirm with your email address, then your password.

Open your Profile page (you will be asked to sign in first if you are not already)

If you cannot sign in

Use the privacy contact form and tell us you want your account deleted. You do not need an account to send it. We will verify that the request really comes from the account holder before we delete anything, so we may ask you for information that confirms it is you.

What deletion removes

  • Your login, profile, display name, and app settings.
  • Every list you own, including its items, categories, labels, members, invites, and activity. Shared lists you own are deleted for everyone on them, so hand those over first if other people still need them.
  • Your memberships in other people's lists.
  • Registered devices, notification preferences, and delivery logs.
  • Your personal item-suggestion history.
  • Your name on things other people keep. Items you added to a list someone else owns stay on that list, with your authorship removed, and your name comes off the activity history other members can still see.
  • Support, privacy, and exit-survey messages you sent us. Your name, address, and the text you wrote are all removed. We keep only the coarse topic you picked.
  • Your entry on our wait list, and your address in our email delivery log.
  • Your link to first-party product events. The events stay as anonymous counts and can no longer be traced to you.
  • Households you belonged to, once no lists and no other members remain in them.

What we keep, and why

We keep a small amount of information, either because the law allows or requires it or because we have a legitimate interest in it. Our Privacy Policy is the fuller description; this is the short version:

  • A deletion receipt. It records that the account was deleted, when, and the email address it belonged to, plus a reference to any subscription it had. It holds none of your lists, items, or messages. We keep it so we can show that a deletion was actually carried out, and so a later billing question can be tied back to the right request.
  • Billing and transaction records held by our payment processor. Your subscription record in our own database is deleted with your account, and any live subscription is cancelled first. Stripe retains the payment and invoice history for accounting, tax, and dispute purposes.
  • A minimal, pseudonymous record that someone accepted our Terms and Privacy Policy, with the live link to your account removed.
  • Aggregate, anonymous usage counts, and the coarse topic of any support message you sent, with the identity and content removed.
  • Security logs and backups, for the limited periods described in the policy.

Before you delete

  • Export anything you want to keep. There is a data export on your Profile page. We cannot recover your lists afterward.
  • Hand over shared lists. The delete flow asks you list by list, and anything you skip is destroyed for every member.
  • A paid subscription is cancelled for you. Deletion cancels it in Stripe first, and stops if it cannot. Deleting an account does not create a refund.
  • Your email becomes free again. Signing up later with the same address creates a brand new account with none of the old data.

How long it takes

Deleting from your Profile page happens immediately. A request sent through the contact form is handled after we verify it, and we aim to complete it within 30 days.
