MyListResortHow to set a date by typing it into the item
Most list apps make you add the thing, then open it again to set a date. In MyListResort you can just say it: type Order the cake on saturday and the date is set, the words come out of the item name, and you see the result before you add it. There is no second field to fill in and nothing new to learn beyond a handful of ordinary words.
The shape of it
Write the item, then a keyword, then the day. That is the whole syntax.
Replace air filterevery90 days
Nothing is read as a date unless one of the keywords introduces it. That one rule is what keeps "sunday roast" and "friday pizza" from turning into dates you never asked for, and it is why the words below are worth knowing.
Checklists, events and boards
Words it listens for: on, by, before, due

A time is optional. Leave it out and the reminder arrives at whatever hour you picked in your profile.

You can say both at once: "Replace filter every 90 days installed 2 weeks ago" sets the schedule and tells it when the clock started.
Groceries and pantry
Words it listens for: by, until, expires

Opening something is still one tap on the item itself, because the once-opened window comes from shelf-life data rather than from a date you type.
Weekly jobs stay on their day
Mow lawn every monday means Mondays, and it keeps meaning Mondays. If you get to it on Wednesday, the next one is still the following Monday rather than a week from Wednesday. Say it as a gap instead, like every 90 days, and it counts the full gap from the day you marked it done, which is the right behaviour for a filter or an oil change.
What it will not guess
A wrong date you have to notice and undo is worse than no date. When something is ambiguous, nothing happens and your line is saved exactly as you typed it.
sunday roast
No keyword in front of it, so it is just an item name. This is the whole reason the keywords exist.
Buy milk on sale
"sale" is not a date, so nothing happens and the line is saved exactly as you typed it.
next week, this weekend
People disagree about what these mean. Rather than guess, we ask for a day: "friday", "in 3 days", "aug 20".
every other tuesday
Not supported yet. Half understanding a repeat is worse than ignoring it, so it stays as plain text.

That is August 9 in some countries and September 8 in others. Write "aug 9" and there is nothing to get wrong.
FAQ
What if I do not want the date it found?
Remove it. The date shows as a chip under the box before you add anything, with the item name exactly as it will be saved. Tap the x and the line is added as plain text instead, with your words untouched.
Will it grab dates out of item names by accident?
No. Nothing is read as a date unless one of the keywords introduces it, so "sunday roast" and "friday pizza" stay ordinary items. And if the words after a keyword are not a date, nothing happens at all: "Turn on the light" is saved exactly as typed.
Does "every monday" really stay on Mondays?
Yes. Mark it done a couple of days late and the next one is still the following Monday, not seven days from when you got to it. A schedule written as a gap instead, like "every 90 days", counts the full gap from the day you marked it done, which is what you want for a filter.
Do I have to use it?
Not at all. Typing an item name and nothing else works exactly as it always has, and you can still set any date on the item afterwards. This only ever saves you the trip back into the item to add one.
Is my typing sent anywhere to be understood?
No. The reading happens on your device, in MyListResort itself. There is no AI service in the middle, nothing to wait for, and your list text is not sent off to be interpreted.
