How to share a grocery list with your household

Share a list by creating it, opening the list settings to make an invite, and sending it however you talk; everyone then edits the same live list on their own phone. Setup takes about a minute, and there is one shared list on each member's device, designed to update as people make changes. Here is the whole flow, including the parts most apps make you discover the hard way.

Make the list

Create your list in MyListResort: groceries, a checklist, a board, whatever the household needs. You can share any list kind.
Open the list settings and invite

Open the list menu, go to sharing, and create an invite for the person you want in.
Send the invite

Send it however you talk: text, chat, email. An eligible recipient signs in and the list appears on their device in the invite’s editor or viewer role. A view-only invite always goes through; an editor invite needs a free slot in their joined-list limit.
Edit together, live

Invited editors can add, edit, and check off from their own devices; viewers can only read. Changes normally sync in near-real time while connected.
Tune who can do what

Make a member view-only if they should see the list but not change it. You can also remove a member, hand the whole list to a new owner, or leave a list someone shared with you.

Why sync reliability is the whole product

Shared-list sync matters most when two people edit in the same aisle, when someone deletes a checked item mid-shop, or when a phone rejoins after a dead zone. MyListResort is built and tested sync-first, but network and service interruptions can delay updates. Review the current list before acting on anything important.

Sharing safely: roles, hand-offs, and leaving

Sharing should never mean losing control. Members you invite can edit, but only you manage who is on the list. A member can be made view-only at any time. If you ever delete a shared list, MyListResort offers to transfer it to another member first, so the household does not lose its list because one person cleaned up their account. And anyone can leave a list they no longer want, without drama.

Can several people edit the same list at once?

Yes. Adds, edits, check-offs, and deletes normally sync in near-real time while devices are connected. Network or service interruptions can delay updates.

Does everyone need a paid account to share a list?

No. Current plans do not charge the invited member a per-person fee, but each account and list remains subject to the capacity and role limits on the pricing page. The paid upgrade adds freshness intelligence and more shared-list capacity.

Can I make someone view-only?

Yes. A view-only member sees the list live but gets no add, edit, or delete controls. It is useful for eligible household members age 13+ who only need to read, or for sharing a plan with another adult. Adults should manage lists for younger children.

What happens if I delete a shared list?

You are offered a hand-off first: transfer the list to another member so it keeps living for them, or delete it for everyone. Nothing disappears without the choice being explicit.

Can I leave a list someone shared with me?

Yes, any member can leave a list at any time from the list settings. The list stays with its owner and other members.

How many people can I share with for free?

The current Free plan lets you run 2 shared lists of your own with up to 4 people on it, counting you, and take part in up to 5 lists owned by others, without a per-person guest fee. That figure counts the lists you can add to and edit. View-only shares are free and never count against it, so people can share as many read-only lists with you as they like. The Household upgrade currently takes that to 25 shared lists, 8 people each, and unlimited lists you can take part in.
